Event Details

South Australia’s History Festival is an annual event that celebrates the state’s history through walks, talks, exhibitions, workshops and more. The festival is one of South Australia’s largest community events and promotes the State’s history via wonderful collections, places, and stories. Each year Burra participates in this state wide event.

The town of Burra is rich with mining heritage and most of its 1840s legacy is still intact. The surest way to get the whole picture is to purchase a Burra Heritage Passport, which gives you instant access to see, hear, and touch the past. The Passport allows you access to 11 locked sites including the Monster Mine, Redruth Gaol, and Miners’ Dugouts.

To find out more about activities in the region visit South Australia’s History Festival website.
